Lingfield Nature Reserves

On Saturday 19th August, 22 Soroptimists and friends from Beckenham, Eastbourne, East Grinstead, Lewes, Pune, Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells gathered at the Lingfield Nature Reserves for an Environmental Experience directed by Anne Richards of SI East Grinstead. Anne informed us about the planning of the reserve and pointed out varieties of fruit, native trees and shrubs and the wild life found in the site. The grass or gently sloped hard paths, the posts and chains and Braille notice boards exemplified the way the reserve has been designed to be accessible to all.

It was nice to see trees planted in memory of Joan Leslie's sister Bett and Liz Sandwell, past president of East Grinstead and South East Region. A very enjoyable two and a half hours culminated in a pub lunch and the time to exchange information with our guest Nisha Ghosh from SI Pune, India.
