MEMBERSHIP

What does soroptimism mean to the individual?

Soroptimism offers women a non party-political forum in which to discuss local, national or international issues, exchange ideas, meet new people and contribute to society. Meetings may involve a speaker or a meal, but are always held in a stimulating and friendly environment.

At club level:

SOROPTIMISM

  • provides social contact and friendship
  • creates and promotes professional networks
  • promotes international travel and friendship
  • develops leadership skills
  • enhances confidence and self esteem
  • identifies projects and oportunities
  • IS FUN
Soroptimism challenges thinking on current social topics, widens understanding of local, national and international issues and provides a platform from which to lobby and influence decision making. To this end clubs often choose an annual project for ..lobbying ..fundraising..action!

WHO ARE OUR MEMBERS?

Women working in a management or professional capacity, or in an occupation with similar status or responsibility. There are also qualified women starting out on their careers, taking a career break or who are no longer working.

JOINING

Membership is by invitation extended at Club level and an Introduction Form is available from www.soroptimist-gbi.co.uk which will put you in touch with your nearest Club.
