Bluebell Sunday - 4th May 2003

Last years successful joint venture between SI Lewes and the Lewes Pestalozzi Support Group was repeated in glorious warm sunshine. Click here for some pictures taken by Joan Pilkington.

Meeting with MP on Lewes Station

On Friday 4th April Lewes MP Norman Baker met club members at Lewes Station where Anne Hudson presented him with a copy of Safe and Sure.

After a general discussion, Norman indicated that he would like to arrange a joint meeting with the External Affairs Director of South Central.

Daffodil Fayre, Sunday 23rd March 2003

Around 65 Soroptimists and guests from Gosport, Guildford, Chichester, Lewisham. Sevenoaks, Beckenham, Tunbridge Wells, Ashford, Haywards Heath and East Grinstead joined Lewes members and enjoyed warm spring sunshine in Piltdown. Unusually for the time of year, many were able to sit outside and enjoy their cream tea.

Chicks hatching are always a great attraction.

President's Lunch, Rowfant House, Sunday 9th February 2003

Soroptimists and guests from Canterbury, Chichester, Croydon, Eastbourne, Gravesend and Haywards Heath joined with SI Lewes members at President Theresa's Lunch. The guest speaker was SE England Regional President Mary Stratton.

House of Lords Lunch 26 November 2002


Bluebell Sunday - 12th May 2002

For the first time, this annual event was a joint venture between SI Lewes and the Lewes Pestalozzi Support Group. About 65 guests enjoyed a walk through the bluebell woods in warm sunshine, followed by a cream tea. At the beginning of the afternoon, the change of insignia took place. Pat Seager handed over the Presidential Badge and Chain to Theresa Jerrett and received the Immediate Past President's Badge from Topsy Hughes.

Cheque Presentation at Demelza House - 27th April 2002

At the end of her Presidential year, President Pat Seager, Beryl Bartter, Topsy Hughes and Anne Hudson went to an Open Day at Demelza House Children's Hospice near Sittingbourne in Kent. This was Pat's chosen charity and a cheque was presented.

Over 50 Soroptimists and friends from Eastbourne and their Friendship Link Club, SI Leeds, Kings Lynn, Gravesend, Haywards Heath, Hastings, East Grinstead, and Croydon enjoyed spring sunshine and a cream tea in the Sussex countryside.

Presentation of cheque to Pestalozzi Childrens Village Trust

 

During her Presidential Year, Anne Hudson raised money from Daffodil Fayre, Bluebell Sunday and other events for the Pestalozzi Childrens Village Trust at Sedlescombe. Patricia Rogers, Director of the Pestalozzi Childrens Village Trust, was guest speaker at Anne's Presidential Lunch at Rowfant and was presented by Anne with a cheque. A further cheque was presented at an Indian Evening held in the Village on May 20th 2000.
