The conservation activities take place every Friday morning at Briars Lodge Centre.
Volunteers, supported by the East Grinstead Mental Health Association and Sussex Oak Leaf Trust, visit Briars Lodge Centre and participate in conservation activities which have been described as ‘Green Gym-eco-therapy’.  This gives individuals outdoor opportunities to work at their own pace, with a relaxed atmosphere and to have time for informal
conversations with friends, conservationists and supporters whilst working and over tea and coffee time.Volunteers also help with plant / animal identifications and surveys so that new discovery trails can be developed in preparation for school visits. As well as gardening and Centre maintenance the volunteers are involved in art work; guiding for open gardens and group visits and photo displays of our work. The evidence of their work builds up to give them the opportunity to get outdoor activity awards.
